COMET, the creative crew that launched COMET MAGAZINE, a culture magazine that emerged on the Tokyo street scene like a comet in May 2024 and is now attracting attention from various fields, will hold its first fully directed event, “COMET SOUNDS vol.1” at ZEROTOKYO, Shinjuku, on Saturday, July 12. SOUNDS vol.1″ will be held at ZEROTOKYO in Shinjuku on Saturday, July 12.

The event’s flyer design will be done by TAKERU, a member of COMET, and all contents except for the VJ will be directed by COMET team members, including artist illustration cards to be distributed only to those who enter the venue, which were written by artist YAMEPI©, and a photo booth to be set up in the venue on the day of the event. The COMET team members will direct all contents except for the VJ.

The event will also feature a timetable of mainly live performances, with a genre-less gathering of young artists who will lead the scene in the future. The lineup includes (sic)boy, who has a rare presence with a style that incorporates elements of alternative, emo, and loud rock and melodic flows into hip-hop; STARKIDS, who has a huge following among artists in the hyper-pop genre, especially among the youth generation; and the “Sonic” group, which performed in four cities in China last year as their first overseas tour. Only U, a hip-hop collective from Kobe that is highly acclaimed by core listeners, ziproom, a rapper/producer who continues to make great strides as a rapper and producer. Manaka pursues an unprecedented style of female rapper with his high musicality; Issei Uno Fifth combines expressive lyricism that skillfully mixes English and Japanese with a free-flowing musicality that transcends the boundaries of genres; and the Tokyo-based Adachi-based group, KEGGøN, is a group that has been performing in Japan for more than 20 years. SpiderWeb and lil mafuyu, both based in Adachi, Tokyo, are sure to be the next coming acts.

The DJs will also include MARZY, FAF, and YeYan, all of whom have been a part of many exciting events.
